ESPN's College GameDay gives picks for Oregon-USC game
ESPN’s College GameDay panel was in complete agreement.
The traveling pregame show is in Athens for Week 11 to highlight an SEC game featuring Georgia. Nolan Smith, a former Bulldog, was on set as the week’s celebrity guest picker. So, naturally, Dan Lanning came up. And against the USC Trojans, the gameday panel feels Lanning will have his group not only ready to win, but to cover a double-digit spread.
Here’s how everyone picked:
- Desmond Howard: Oregon
- Pat McAfee: Oregon
- Nolan Smith (guest picker): Oregon
- Lee Corso: Oregon
- Kirk Herbstreit: Oregon
Corso said Oregon is playing like the best team in the country.
“We love Dan Lanning, too,” Herbstreit said as he pointed back at Smith.
The Ducks are 8-1 on the season and ranked No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. They welcome a Trojans team that has lost three of its last four games to Autzen Stadium.
For USC, a spot in the Pac-12 title game is on the line. The Trojans can’t secure their ticket to Las Vegas with a win, but they will be all but eliminated from contention with a loss.
For Oregon, the College Football Playoff is within sight if it can keep racking up victories.
Kickoff between the two sides is set for 7:30 p.m. PT on FOX.
