Bo Nix and Dan Lanning lead the ninth-ranked Oregon Ducks (9-2, 7-1 Pac-12) into Corvallis on Saturday to battle the Oregon State Beavers (8-3, 5-3 Pac-12) and possibly secure a spot in the 2022 Pac-12 Championship Game.

ESPN’s College GameDay crew offered their picks on the affair to close out the traveling pregame show. The panel was split 3-2 on the game in favor of the Ducks. Here’s how everyone picked:

  • Desmond Howard: Oregon
  • Pat McAfee: Oregon State
  • AJ Hawk (guest picker): Oregon
  • Lee Corso: Oregon State
  • Kirk Herbstreit: Oregon

Herbstreit threw some appreciation toward Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith for the rebuild job he’s done in Corvallis. The Beavers have eight wins in a single season for the first time since 2012 and they’re headed to back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 2012-13.

A big reason why? Oregon State has been excellent at Reser Stadium. The Beavers are 4-1 at home this season. They went 6-0 at home last season. The only loss during that time was a three-point defeat at the hands of USC earlier this season.

The Ducks have been road warriors this year — Oregon is 4-0 in true road games — but this will be the stiffest test. A win will give Oregon its first unbeaten road record since 2014.

Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
