ESPN's College GameDay crew gives their picks for Oregon-Colorado
ESPN’s College GameDay crew likes No. 10 Oregon to defend its home field and knock off the surging Colorado Buffaloes.
The panel is in South Bend this weekend for Notre Dame-Ohio State, but they hit on a number of Pac-12 games during their picks. The Week 4 slate is loaded, particularly in the Pac-12, where there are three ranked-on-ranked matchups.
Chief among them is the Oregon-Colorado game. Here’s how the panel picked:
- Desmond Howard: Oregon
- Pat McAfee: Oregon
- Vince Vaughn (guest picker): Colorado
- Lee Corso: Oregon
- Kirk Herbstreit: Oregon
“Last time they (Colorado) were a three-touchdown underdog, they had Travis Hunter. He’s gonna be out. I think that’s a huge loss offensively and defensively,” said Howard.
Hunter suffered a lacerated liver in Colorado’s double-overtime win over Colorado State last weekend. He’s expected to be out through at least the USC game next weekend. And the Buffs will feel his loss on both sides of the ball.
He’s a potential All-American kind of player at either receiver or corner.
Colorado has options at wideout, but its defense is a question mark against the Ducks.
“It does have that feeling it could be a shootout,” said Herbstreit. “It’s not about Shedeur Sanders. We know he and his receivers are gonna play (well). It’s the offensive line in that environment. How do they play? Can they give him just enough time to be able to make plays? I think it goes back and forth, but I think Oregon at Autzen, too much, too tough to beat.”
Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC.
