Dan Lanning had to say it again, just in case everyone missed it the last time he said it:”Bo Nix is the best quarterback in the nation.”

The Oregon Ducks blasted Utah Saturday afternoon in Salt Lake City, 35-6. The Utes have looked strong this season even without the services of Cam Rising, but nobody would have beaten this Ducks team in Week 9. And Nix was the catalyst.

The Ducks’ quarterback threw for 248 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. He’s up to 2,337 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just one interception this season.

Lanning was singing his praises postgame.

“I’m going to say it again, Bo Nix is the best quarterback in the nation, just to be really clear. I don’t think there’s any doubt about it,” Lanning said. “And again, it’s not just the plays he makes on the field, I think a lot of people talk about chasing stats and all these things, this guy just plays consistent. He gets us in the right calls, he comes to the sideline and helps us through adjustments. He tells us what he sees.

“He’s an unbelievable person. When you have a good team like we have, and we have a quarterback like we have, that’s a special recipe for success.”

The Ducks are as impressive as any team in the nation with a good loss to Washington in Seattle. They’re sitting at 7-1 on the year and will next face off against a Cal squad that gave USC everything it had earlier Saturday evening.
