Dan Lanning and the Ducks don’t have to feed Bucky Irving for him to change games. His per-play impact is special.

In Oregon’s 38-24 win over Washington State on Saturday, Irving had himself a day. The star tailback produced 180 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. He ran for 129 yards on 15 carries and caught three passes for another 51 yards.

Irving averaged 10 yards a touch.

“He’s a special player,” Lanning told ESPN’s Molly McGrath after the game. “He’s got the biggest heart. Really proud of him and his effort to run the ball and (proud of) the offensive line up front.”

As a team, the Ducks ran for 248 yards and nearly 8 a carry. Jordan James produced 103 yards on 13 carries as the thunder to Irving’s lightning.

The performance from Irving marked his third 100-yard day on the season and his second in as many weeks. In the loss to Washington last weekend, Irving had 127 rushing yards and a score on 22 carries.

On the season, he’s averaging 7.5 yards per rushing attempt.

Against the Cougs, Irving accounted for a 40-yard run, a 42-yard touchdown reception, and a 43-yard touchdown run. His highlights are below:
