Bucky Irving is a joy to watch on Saturdays for neutrals and Oregon fans alike.

Pro Football Focus is hoping that will transfer over to Sundays once his time in Eugene comes to an end. Irving was featured as the most fun running back to watch in the 2024 NFL Draft class in a superlatives piece from the outlet on Thursday. They wrote this on the star Oregon rusher:

Five weeks into the college football season, Oregon ranks second in the country in points per game (51.6). Quarterback Bo Nix gets a lot of praise for that, as does his go-to receiver, Troy Franklin. However, running back Bucky Irving is becoming a must-watch player every week.

Irving owns an 85.5 rushing grade so far this year with 23 missed tackles forced and 0.43 missed tackles forced per attempt. His 4.3 yards after contact per carry ranks 13th in the FBS among running backs with at least 50 carries, which is very impressive for a 5-foot-10, 195-pounder.

If you haven’t seen Irving play college football, take some time to do so because he lives up the superlative PFF gave him.

The Minnesota transfer leads Oregon’s backfield with 393 yards rushing and has had a role in the Ducks’ success this season. Irving knows how to find endzone, with 4 touchdowns this year.

Bo Nix will get some credit for the 5-0 start to Oregon’s season, but Irving deserves some praise too. Irving has played in every game in 2023 after a breakout campaign from his first season as a Duck a year ago.
