Bo Nix to Terrance Ferguson. It worked to end the first half, so Oregon’s quarterback went back to the well on the Ducks’ opening possession of the second half.

On fourth-and-goal, Nix hit Ferguson for a touchdown that brought Oregon within three points of Washington, 20-17. The Huskies led 20-3 with 1:39 to play in the second quarter.

After two touchdown receptions from Ferguson, it felt like a brand-new game.

The touchdown drive from Oregon to open the third quarter spanned 75 yards in 15 plays. It took five minutes and 21 seconds off the clock. It also featured a pair of fourth-down conversions.

Oregon’s first “roll the dice” play of the game came on fourth-and-5 from 3 yards shy of midfield. Oregon emptied the backfield and Nix fired complete to Troy Franklin for 6 yards. Then, obviously, he hit Ferguson to cap the drive.

Most notably, Oregon went 0-for-3 on fourth-down attempts when these two teams met the first time back on Oct. 14. The Ducks lost 36-33 and Lanning was criticized for his aggressive decision-making.
