Bo Nix discusses decision to return to Oregon: 'I didn't want to have any regrets'
Bo Nix is back for another season in Eugene after a dramatic debut with Oregon.
After an impressive performance, Nix had the possibility of leaving the Ducks and heading for the NFL. However, he took advantage of another year of eligibility to return for one last season in college.
Asked about that opportunity at Pac-12 Media Day, Nix said he wanted to exhaust all of his options to win a college championship. He also said he never wanted to leave himself wondering what could have been.
“I felt like why give up on the opportunity to win a championship in college football while I have the chance? I feel like the NFL will always be there, but right now, I wanted to exhaust everything I have in college,” said Nix in an interview for ESPN. “Give it everything I have for my teammates, for myself. I didn’t want to have any regrets. With one more year, I felt like it was in my best interests to stay.”
While Oregon went 10-3 a season ago, the Ducks face a deep Pac-12 field and a tough schedule in 2023. While Nix and company face USC at home this season, the Ducks must travel to face Washington and Utah to go along with a nonconference road trip against Texas Tech.
