Oregon is hard after 2023 4-star linebacker Blake Nichelson, and they’re officially one of the final three teams standing in his recruitment.

The Manteca (Calif.) linebacker announced his final three on Monday. Oregon will look to beat out UCLA and Florida State for his signature.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker prospect rates as a 4-star in the industry-generated 247 Composite and the 251st overall recruit in the 2023 class. He ranks as the 18th-best linebacker in the class and the 16th-ranked California prospect.

Nichelson was an absolutely phenomenal two-way player for Manteca as a junior. On the offensive side of the ball, he carried it 200 times for 2,231 yards (10.7 per carry) and 36 touchdowns. He also added 19 receptions for 381 yards and seven more scores.

On the defensive side of the ball, he produced 49 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, seven sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception and a pass breakup. He’s been selected to participate in the All-American Bowl and the 2023 Polynesian Bowl.

The Ducks hosted Nichelson for an official visit during their massive weekend to close out the month of June. The Ducks have nine known pledges for the 2023 class so far and will look to add their third from the front seven.

Nichelson’s highlight tape is impressive. He’s a violent tackler, ripping the ball-carrier to the ground when he engages. He shows good burst as well. His highlight tape is below, via Hudl:
