Pat McAfee says Shedeur Sanders should be No. 3 pick in NFL Draft
Pat McAfee has made a bold statement on the draft prospects of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.
With the Buffaloes’ junior quarterback draft-eligible after the season, NFL scouts and executives will have plenty of eyes on him given his performance at Jackson State before arriving in Boulder. And he’s gotten off to a great start in 2023: 903 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions in 2 games.
While McAfee feels USC’s Caleb Williams is the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft “by far” and that North Carolina’s Drake Maye is No. 2, it’s Sanders who “has to be” at No. 3.
It doesn’t hurt that Shedeur Sanders is the son of Deion Sanders, McAfee noted.
“Any time you can get a legacy player, any time you can get somebody who knows what it’s like to be a professional athlete, knows what the NFL is like, probably knows a lot of people in a lot of buildings since he was a little kid, the expectation, how to operate, everything that’s coming, it’s like, this dude is unstoppable,” he said on Thursday’s “Pat McAfee Show”.
Next up for the Buffs: Colorado State on Saturday. Can they (and Sanders) keep things rolling?
