JT Shrout was a key contributor for Colorado during the 2022 season. Now, he’s reportedly on the move in the transfer portal after deciding on his next destination.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Shrout is expected to transfer to Arkansas State for the 2023 season. Thamel also points out there is the potential for a second season of eligibility with the Red Wolves if Shrout receives a medical redshirt from the NCAA.

Shrout began his career at Tennessee via the 2018 recruiting class. The move would be a nice pickup for Butch Jones at Arkansas State as the Red Wolves try to improve on a 5-19 record over the 2021-22 seasons.

Shrout missed all of the 2021 season with a knee injury but played 9 games for Colorado in 2022. He completed just 44.3% of his passes but led the team with 1,220 yards passing and 7 passing touchdowns. Shrout also had 8 interceptions and a rushing touchdown to his credit.
