Deion Sanders hiring as Colorado’s coach is unprecedented, according to Joel Klatt.

On his podcast, The Joel Klatt Show, he pointed out the magnitude of what Sanders is trying to do.

“What he’s going to be trying to do in Colorado it’s totally unprecedented,” Klatt said. Colorado’s level of ineptitude over the last few years is staggering when you actually look at the numbers.”

The 1-11 Buffaloes had an average loss margin of 29 points in 2022, the worst in the Power 5. Ten of 11 losses were by 23 points more.

Sanders faces a rebuild on both sides of the ball with 68 new players. The exodus of players has all of college football talking according to Klatt: “I’ve never seen a 1-11 team that everyone wants to comment on.”

“That’s why Coach Prime and his rebuild at Colorado is unequivocally, the most interesting thing in college football, particularly early in the season,” Klatt said.

Klatt feels Sanders may be what Colorado needs. An upgrade in talent with the additions of Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Cormani McClain make the Buffaloes a much better team in 2023.
