Former Tennessee, Arizona State LB lands at Colorado out of transfer portal
Former Tennessee, Texas and – briefly – Arizona State linebacker Juwan Mitchell seems to have transferred to Colorado.
Mitchell played for Tennessee last season and transferred to Arizona State to play the 2023 season, but was dismissed from the team at the beginning of August.
Mitchell is featured in the below video from Colorado’s Friday practice:
Breaking: Juwan Mitchell has transfered from ASU to Colorado Football team!
This is huge as he was a PROVEN starter for TENNESSEE last year! We just landed a big time playmaker. Did ASU fumble the bag!??#WeComing #skobuffs pic.twitter.com/GLUTuTDUle

Mitchell was a strong player at Texas (led team with 62 tackles in 2020) before injury problems caused some concerns at Tennessee. Mitchell played in 13 games across 2 seasons in Knoxville and totaled 51 tackles with 1 interception and 4 pass deflections.
Colorado is certainly no stranger to transfers. The Buffs have added over 50 newcomers from the portal across the past offseason. It’s unknown as of now whether Mitchell will be eligible to play since he transferred to Arizona State originally this offseason.
