ESPN's Bill Connelly expects Colorado to have a significant offensive improvement
As soon as Colorado announced that its new head football coach would be Deion Sanders, the excitement and expectations for the program became very high.
Coach Prime didn’t waste any time in changing the program, as he held an initial meeting telling those players replacements were coming.
Sanders has brought in plenty of transfers, including his son, Shedeur Sanders, who will play the quarterback position.
While there are plenty of reasons for the optimism in Boulder, what are realistic expectations for how the Buffaloes will play?
ESPN’s Bill Connelly recently talked about this on “The Power Rankings Show”, and he expects the Colorado offense to be very improved.
“We start with a pretty obvious one who probably isn’t a Playoff contender by any stretch of the imagination, but if Colorado doesn’t improve as much as anybody else, it will be a pretty big shock. You can see with my SP + projections, they should improve by over 2 touchdowns.”

While a lot of teams play some non-Power 5 teams early in the season, Colorado comes out of the gate with 2 very difficult games. The first game is a road trip to No. 17 TCU, the same Horned Frogs that made it all the way to the national championship game.
After that game, the Buffaloes are at home, but they will be facing an old rival in Nebraska. Both teams are bringing in new coaches, as Matt Rhule starts his time as the coach of the Cornhuskers.
Both of these games are 12 p.m. ET kickoffs, and will be featured on FOX Sports as Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt will be on the call.
