Deion Sanders let us all know this would be the case back when he was hired in December. And still, it’s hard to imagine anyone expected Colorado players to enter the transfer portal at the rate they are now.

Since Sanders was hired over 40 Colorado players have entered the transfer portal, with 20 of those coming since this past Monday following Colorado’s spring game. Every single wide receiver on last year’s roster has left the team as of now, and more players are following suit each and every day.

Coach Prime seemingly responded to the state of his program and the portal on Twitter Wednesday. He insists his players will either work hard or be told to leave, and he isn’t backing down from it.

There’s something admirable about Sanders’ commitment to his philosophy, but we’re getting to a point where it’s hard to imagine the Buffaloes fielding a full team next season. Cornerback especially seems incredibly thin right now for the Buffaloes.

But as players transfer away, those who share Sanders’ style will join the fray. The spring transfer window will remain open until April 30.
