Deion Sanders has latest successful surgery, Tracey Edmonds reports
Deion Sanders has had a series of health issues in recent years, but the Colorado coach has come out of his latest successful surgery, this time to remove blood clots.
Coach Prime’s girlfriend, Tracey Edmonds, shared on Instagram appreciation for doctors and nurses, and added, “Thank you Lord for another successful surgery!! We thank you for giving #CoachPrime @deionsanders the strength to fight these challenges and we have Faith that you will give him the VICTORY!”
Sanders’ surgery was to remove blood clots in one of his legs after previously undergoing surgery last month to remove blood clots from his left thigh and below his left knee, Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today noted. In June, Sanders shared video of a conversation with a doctor that revealed he may need to have his left foot amputated.
Sanders has dealt with blood clots in his foot in the past, and he had 2 toes amputated from his left foot in 2021.
The procedure caused Sanders to miss Pac-12 Media Day on Friday in Las Vegas.
Sanders himself also discussed missing the event.
Colorado said in a statement on Wednesday that Sanders is expected to be back coaching in time for fall camp.
