Deion Sanders, Colorado to replace elite recruiter on Buffaloes staff, per report
Deion Sanders and Colorado have faced some personnel loss following an eight-game losing streak to end the season. On Saturday, they lost the services of Nick Williams, who coached the defensive ends for the Buffaloes this past season.
Williams was previously on staff at Texas A&M in a similar role and was noted for his efforts to help land the Aggies’ No. 1 nationally-ranked recruiting class in 2022. He was on staff at Georgia from 2018-20, where he played football at from 2008-10.
This comes after Colorado has lost a handful of players to the portal and other staff members. The Buffaloes began the 2023 season 3-0 and were ranked as high as No. 19 in the country, but they dropped eight of their nine conference contests. Sanders now faces the challenge of maintaining the program’s overall momentum while fixing the issues of the late season losing streak.
The Buffaloes will open the 2024 season at home against North Dakota State before taking on Nebraska and Colorado State away from Boulder.
Hearing Colorado defensive ends coach Nick Williams is moving on from the program. He is one of the best recruiters in the country and an up-and-comer on the field. A Peach State native, the 33-year old Williams played his college football at Georgia.
