Deion Sanders is working on putting together the 2024 recruiting class for Colorado. On Tuesday, a key piece was added to the puzzle.

The commitment comes from Aaron Butler, a 4-star athlete out of Calabasas High School in California. Butler picked Colorado over a host of elite Power 5 offers, including Alabama, Georgia, USC, Michigan, Oklahoma and Oregon among others.

Butler’s commitment came in the comments section of one of Sanders’ Instagram Live videos before joining the head coach on camera:

He shared his commitment on his own social media page shortly after.

Listed at 6-foot-0.5 and 165 pounds, Butler is rated as a 4-star recruit and the No. 7 ATH in the country per the 247 Sports Composite. Butler is a top-100 recruit for the cycle (95th nationally) and is the No. 12 player out of California for the 2024 recruiting class.

Butler previously committed to USC in January 2022 but reopened his recruitment early in 2023. He projects as either a corner or receiver at the next level.

Butler is the 5th verbal commitment for the Buffs in the cycle, and he immediately becomes the highest-ranked pledge for Sanders’ program to this point. We’ll see how Colorado rounds out the recruiting class moving forward.
