Deion Sanders did not like how his players responded to a fight during practice.

The Colorado coach called out the Buffaloes for walking away, and not defending a teammate, and had several call-and-response exchanges with his players.

“I see 2 of y’all walking off over there,” Sanders said. “And you’ve got a kid teammate fighting. Where they do that at? Where they do that at? If one fighting, we’re all fighting, do you understand that? I don’t want to see y’all walking off when somebody’s fighting. Never again!”

Sanders is trying to build a culture at Colorado as he gets set for the season opener against TCU and beyond, and this is the kind of issue that will reflect the program. Fall camp scuffles are as common as heat and humidity around the country, but developing toughness and chemistry is something still to be seen at Colorado.

Sanders was hired in December to turn around the Buffaloes following a 1-11 season in 2022, and he’s done it with an overhaul of the roster with loads of new faces, and a new staff.
