Finally, Colorado has its first WNBA first-round draft selection.
It’s Mya Hollingshed.
On Monday night, the fifth-year senior forward became the sixth player in CU program history to hear her name called at the WNBA Draft. The Las Vegas Aces selected her with the eighth overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft.

Hollingshed will join an Aces squad that finished second last season with a 24-8 record, falling to Phoenix 3-2 in the semifinals of the WNBA Playoffs.
The 6-foot-3 forward from Houston was Colorado’s anchor this past season. In nearly 32 minutes a night, Hollingshed averaged a team-leading 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds a game. She also put in two assists, 1.1 steals, and a block a night while shooting 42% from the field and 40% from the 3-point line.
Hollingshed, a two-time All-Pac-12 selection, is the first CU player drafted since Chucky Jeffery was taken in the second round (24th overall) of the 2013 draft.
