“Every time we step on the field, go out there with a purpose and control what we can control,” said Sanders.
The Buffaloes suffered through a dismal 2022 season in which they finished with a 1-11 record. As a result, Deion Sanders was brought in to lead the team forward after spending the previous 3 seasons coaching the Jackson State Tigers.
The elder Sanders brought his son, Shedeur Sanders, who will now be the starting QB. Sanders performed at an elite level at Jackson State in 2022, and finished with 3,732 passing yards, 40 TDs, and 6 INTs. That level of production would be welcomed in Boulder after the leading passer for the team in 2022, JT Shrout, collected just 1,220 passing yards with 7 TDs and 8 INTs.
The Buffaloes will kick off the 2023 season on Sep. 2 against TCU.
