Colorado landed another former blue-chip prospect in the transfer portal on Friday.

The Buffs picked up a commitment from ex-Florida State defensive back Travis Jay.

Here’s his announcement:

Jay entered the transfer portal earlier this spring. He spent 4 seasons with the Seminoles before deciding to depart.

He was a 4-star prospect in the class of 2019. Jay was the No. 154 overall player and the No. 17 cornerback in the country for that cycle, per 247Sports.

Jay did not see the field for Florida State in 2022. Instead, he participated on scout team. However, he appeared in 16 games for the Noles across the 2020 and 2021 campaigns.

During that time, he recorded 43 tackles, 3 interceptions and 4 pass deflections.

He joins a growing list of Florida State players who have transferred to Colorado this offseason. Bishop Thomas, Omarion Cooper, Brendan Gant and Derrick McLendon have all made that same jump this season.

Jay is the 46th transfer to join Colorado so far this cycle.
