Amari McNeill, Tennessee DL transfer, announces Pac-12 commitment
Amari McNeill, a former Tennessee lineman who entered the transfer portal less than a week ago, has announced a commitment to play in the Pac-12 after 2 seasons with the Vols.
McNeill committed to Colorado after he was on hand for Saturday’s spring game.
McNeill originally signed with Tennessee in December 2020 before Jeremy Pruitt was fired. He was rated a 3-star offensive tackle on the 247Sports Composite, but ultimately played defensive line.
In 2021, McNeill played in 1 game against South Alabama and later redshirted.
Last season, McNeill made 6 appearances for the Volunteers, made a pass breakup in the Ball State game on Sept. 1. and finished with 3 tackles on the season.
McNeill is from Suwanee, Georgia (Peachtree Ridge High School). As a recruit, he had offers from 26 schools, including Minnesota, Virginia Tech and Washington State. McNeill has 3 remaining seasons of eligibility.
