Missouri DB transfer, former 4-star prospect, commits to Cal
A former Missouri defensive back decided to commit to a Pac-12 program on Thursday. He spent one season in Columbia with the Tigers before hitting the transfer portal.
Marcus Scott II was a former 4-star CB out of the 2022 class per the 247Sports Composite. He’ll be heading west to play for Cal football next season.
247Sports had Scott as the No. 40 CB and No. 55 prospect out of Texas in the 2022 class. He attended Conroe High School in Conroe, Texas.

The only schools to offer Scott out of high school were Missouri, UNLV, LSU, Texas Tech, and Houston.
Cal has added another DB to its roster recently. San Diego State transfer Patrick McMorris will also be playing for the Golden Bears in 2023. DB Fatuvalu Iosefa did decide to leave Cal via the transfer portal, however.
Scott did not play in a single game for Missouri this past season after taking a medical redshirt year. Scott has four years of college eligibility left.
Cal football will be hoping that the addition of Scott and McMorris will help strengthen the secondary. Its defense allowed 279.5 yards passing per game last season, which was the most in the Pac-12.
Scott is moving from Columbia to Berkeley.
