Cal and Minnesota will meet on the football field again a little earlier than previously expected.

The two programs announced Friday that their 2029 nonconference game in Berkeley will be moved up to Sept. 13, 2025.

The contest will be the first between the Golden Bears and Gophers since they met in Minneapolis in 2009. The teams last played in Berkeley in 2006. Cal leads the all-time series with four wins and two losses. This game had originally been scheduled for Sept. 1, 2029. The contest between the two schools in Minneapolis will remain as originally scheduled, Sept. 16, 2028.

Cal will also move a previously scheduled road game at San Diego State back one week to accommodate the change. They’ll now play on Sept. 20.
