Cal picks up 2024 commitment from DL out of Texas
Justin Wilcox’s Cal staff dipped into Texas for the Golden Bears’ newest commitment.
Houston St. Thomas DL Michael-Anthony Okwura has pledged to Cal over 4 other scholarship offers. He announced his commitment on Twitter, sharing a note with the following:
“The steps of a Good man are ordered by the Lord: And he delighteth in his way. I want to thank Coach Davis and Coach McGuire for helping me get here. I especially thank Coach Phill Penn for mentoring me and training me to be where I am today, and everyone who has helped me along the way. I am super excited to commit to Berkeley football, and I thank Coach Wilcox and Browning for the opportunity. I am extremely thankful to my family for being there for me. I greatly appreciate the schools that offered me. However, this is where my life has lead me. It’s a good day to be Bear!!!! Class 24’s let’s go!!! #phillyfastlife”
Okwura is listed as measuring 6-2, 255 pounds. He is rated 3-stars, the No. 89 defensive lineman and No. 127 Lone Star State recruit on 247Sports.
