Cal football is getting set to hit the field for the spring practice session right around the corner. On Tuesday, the program announced the official dates for spring practice and the annual Spring Showcase event.

The Bears will begin the spring practice period on March 11 and conclude their series of 15 team workouts on Saturday, April 15 for the annual Cal Football Spring Showcase. The event will be held at California Memorial Stadium with admission free to attend and open to the public.

Cal is coming off a 4-8 season in 2022 and has won just 9 games over the past two seasons. The program will look to rebound in 2023.

The Bears have added a number of new faces via the transfer portal, including QB Sam Jackson, WR Brian Hightower and RB Byron Cardwell, among others. The Bears begin the fall season on Sept. 2 at North Texas before facing SEC foe Auburn in the home opener on Sept. 9.
