Cal made a big addition to its 2023 offense on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Bears picked up a commitment from former Montana State running back Isaiah Ifanse. He is the all-time leading rusher in Montana State’s history.

Here’s his announcement:

Ifanse arrives at Cal with 3,747 rushing yards in his collegiate career. He also owns the program’s single season record with 1,637 rushing yards during a historic 2021 campaign.

He’s been a consistent weapon out of the backfield throughout his collegiate career. He owns 17 100-yard games, which is tied for the program record.

Ifanse joins a Cal offense that is hoping to get more from its running back room in 2023. The Golden Bears ranked dead last in the Pac-12 in rushing yards per game last season. They also ranked last in rushing touchdowns and 10th in yards per carry.

Jaydn Ott, a freshman All-American last season, is also set to return and have a big role in the offense.

Ifanse will have 1 year of eligibility remaining.
