Arizona kicks off fall camp on Wednesday.

“The end of the 2021 talking season and the start of getting this thing right and moving forward,” head coach Jedd Fisch told local reporters on Tuesday. “Really excited about starting new this first training camp. Tomorrow’s practice should be a blast. So many new faces and so many new names and now we get an opportunity to get going with them again for training camp and start this process the right way.”

On the heels of a 1-11 season, Arizona is entering into a crucial window. Fisch said at Pac-12 Media Day over the weekend he felt the Wildcats’ depth beat them at times last season. “Our players never stopped playing and never stopped competing,” he said, but they did wear down. “It was really important for us moving forward that we built our program based on being able to play for all four quarters and 60 minutes.”

Summer work will go a long way toward addressing that issue. Arizona has upward momentum right now. It’ll look to keep it going in fall camp.
