Noah Fifita and Arizona are firing on all cylinders early on in the Alamo Bowl.

After taking a 3-0 lead on their opening drive, the Wildcats picked off Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold on the Sooners’ first possession. On the first play after the interception, Jedd Fisch dialed up a deep ball for Jacob Cowing.

Fifita hit him perfectly in stride for a 35-yard touchdown to give the Wildcats a 10-0 lead early in the first quarter.

Here’s a replay:

Fifita entered this game with 20 completed passes of 30+ yards, which was tied for 5th in the Pac-12 during the regular season.

For Cowing, this was the 12th touchdown of his collegiate career. He’s had a career-best season in that department for the Wildcats this year. His previous-career best total for touchdowns in a single season was 7.

Arizona enters this game with a 9-3 record. The Wildcats are looking to get to 10 wins for the first time since 2014. This is Arizona’s first bowl game since it lost in the Foster Farms Bowl to close out the 2017 campaign.
