March Sadness: Social media reacts to Arizona's shocking loss to Princeton
Arizona became just the 11th No. 2 seed to lose to a No. 15 seed in the history of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
The Princeton Tigers scored the final nine points of the game β holding Arizona scoreless over the final four-plus minutes of game action β to hand the Pac-12 champion Wildcats a 59-55 loss. Arizona’s seven-man rotation was largely ineffective as Princeton dictated the pace of the game and held the UA to its lowest scoring output of the Tommy Lloyd era.
Arizona over Princeton was one of the most popular picks in the tournament, and the Wildcats’ loss busted just about everyone’s bracket. Some shared pain on social media while others got off their jokes at the expense of Arizona.
Here’s some of the reaction to the loss:
This Arizona loss is counting towards the B12 tourney record.

Joe Biden picked the Arizona Wildcats and then they turn around and lose in the first round to Princeton. March, baby.

Such a disappointing β yet on brand β way to end the season for Arizona.
Team had great wins: UCLA (2x), Tennessee, Indiana, San Diego State and Creighton.
But the losses, whew: Washington State at home, Stanford and Princeton.
Team had such a high ceiling, but fudged it.

Princeton 59 Arizona 55
Total collapse by Arizona, which led 47-35.
Inexcusable. At least Santa Clara had Steve Nash.
