Jedd Fisch is facing questions from every angle about Arizona’s current stance amid rumors of realignment between the Pac-12 and Big 12.

The Wildcats have long been thought of as the next program to follow Colorado and move next year from the Pac-12 to the Big 12. The Arizona Board of Regents has a meeting scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. That meeting is scheduled after multiple outlets reported Monday that a media deal was to be presented to the Pac-12 presidents and athletic directors on Tuesday morning.

Asked what’s best for Arizona, Fisch said stability: “Athletics are very expensive. And to run sports programs is very expensive.”

Fisch added that he has had Zoom calls with families of every player and talked with recruits. “We’re in a position where people want us,” he said.

Fisch also tried to tamp down the narrative that Arizona would be killing the Pac-12 if it left, and added that, “I don’t know what is happening with the conference, but I do know Arizona is a great brand and will be fine.”
