Jayden de Laura will be a “game-time decision” for Arizona against USC on Saturday, with the Wildcats quarterback “unlikely to play” against the Trojans, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

De Laura hasn’t played since a Week 4 game against Stanford, where he passed for 157 yards and a touchdown in the Wildcats’ win against the Cardinal. However, he suffered a lower-body injury that held him out against Washington in Week 5.

Sophomore Noah Fifita received the start from Jedd Fisch in de Laura’s absence and had a decent outing as he went 27-of-39 for 232 yards while tossing 3 touchdowns and an interception as the upset-minded Wildcats fell just short against the Huskies. It was his first career start.

As for de Laura, Week 7’s game at Washington State has been tapped as “a more realistic target for him to return”, per Thamel.

Arizona-USC will kick off from Arizona Stadium at 7:30 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on ESPN.
