Jayden de Laura announces plans for Alamo Bowl, 2024 season
Jayden de Laura will enter the transfer portal after being passed as the starter by Noah Fifita. De Laura announced on Monday that he would remain with the Wildcats through Thursday’s Alamo Bowl, and referenced a recent change that allows players a second undergrad transfer.
“I appreciate my time at the University of Arizona, but the opportunity to return as a starter my final year of college, while also getting my degree, is something I must explore,” he wrote on social media.
Arizona turned heads in 2022 when it signed de Laura after he threw for more than 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2 seasons for Washington State. In 2022, he passed for 3,685 yards and 25 touchdowns with 13 interceptions.

De Laura opened 2023 as Arizona’s starter, but suffered an ankle injury against Stanford.
Then Noah Fifita took over and threw for 2,515 yards, yards 23 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He was also named the Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year. Coach Jedd Fisch then opted to keep him as the starter after de Laura was healthy enough to return.
