Tyrese Haliburton currently owns the No. 0 with the Indiana Pacers so Bennedict Mathurin had to get creative.

The Pacers revealed rookie numbers for their recently drafted players over the weekend and showed that Mathurin is set to begin his NBA career wearing the No. 00. So… it’s still technically zero, just not the same kind of zero. We’re definitely going to need to see Haliburton and Mathurin on the court together.

Mathurin, the Pac-12’s Player of the Year this past season, was a consensus All-American, a first-team all-conference selection, and the Most Outstanding Player at the Pac-12 Tournament during his final year with Arizona.

He averaged 17.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. The 655 points he scored rank as the ninth-most in Arizona history, and Mathurin got there with a pretty decent shooting clip. As the team’s go-to scorer, Mathurin shot 45% from the floor and 37% from the 3-point line.

The 6-foot-7 guard was selected with the sixth overall pick in Thursday night’s NBA Draft.
