Jacob Cowing was one of the most productive receivers in college football to enter the transfer portal this offseason. When he chose the Arizona Wildcats, it felt like a massive offseason win for coach Jedd Fisch.

As it turns out, Cowing’s arrival could lead to a few more in-season wins as well.

The former UTEP wideout was incredible in his debut, helping the Wildcats to a 38-20 win over San Diego State to open the new season. He finished with 152 yards and three touchdowns on eight receptions, becoming the first Power Five receiver since Michael Crabtree to post three receiving scores in his debut.

The rest of the college football viewing public was in awe of his play.

Of course, we’re not surprised to see Cowing ball out in his debut. We’ve been banging the drum for Cowing as one of the best players in the Pac-12 all offseason long.
