College football world reacts to Jacob Cowing's explosive debut for Arizona
Jacob Cowing was one of the most productive receivers in college football to enter the transfer portal this offseason. When he chose the Arizona Wildcats, it felt like a massive offseason win for coach Jedd Fisch.
As it turns out, Cowing’s arrival could lead to a few more in-season wins as well.
The former UTEP wideout was incredible in his debut, helping the Wildcats to a 38-20 win over San Diego State to open the new season. He finished with 152 yards and three touchdowns on eight receptions, becoming the first Power Five receiver since Michael Crabtree to post three receiving scores in his debut.
The rest of the college football viewing public was in awe of his play.

These Arizona wide receivers are as good a duo as any I can remember in Tucson:
Freshman Tetairoa McMillan has size and catches everything and the UTEP transfer Jacob Cowing is experienced and explosive.

Awesome win for @ArizonaFBall over SDSU to start year 2 of the @CoachJeddFisch era. First true road win for UA since October 5, 2019 at Colorado.
Jayden de Laura and Jacob Cowing are going to be a problem… 🐻⬇️

I would say I'm surprised at how good Jacob Cowing is, but he had over 1,400 yards at UTEP last season. He's legit one of the best receivers in the country. He and Jayden de Laura looking like a special combo for Arizona so far.

Jacob Cowing TD #3 on the day for Arizona. If he had played anywhere other than UTEP last year, he may have been an All-American. If he keeps this up, he could be one in 2022. pic.twitter.com/lycvQhj9JP

I mean. I don’t have any more superlatives. JACOB. COWING.

Arizona absolutely rolling in the first quarter against San Diego State. Jacob Cowing is gonna be an All American.

Of course, we’re not surprised to see Cowing ball out in his debut. We’ve been banging the drum for Cowing as one of the best players in the Pac-12 all offseason long.
