Bracket announced for 2022 Maui Jim Maui Invitational, Arizona to open with Cincinnati
The official bracket for the 2022 Maui Jim Maui Invitational has been set.
The Arizona Wildcats will open play against the Cincinnati Bearcats. The game is slated to tip off at 9:30 p.m. MST on Nov. 21. It’s set to be broadcast on ESPN2. Every game during the tournament will be broadcast on an ESPN network channel—be it ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU.
This year’s tournament marks the first time it has been held in Maui since 2019, after playing the last two on the mainland due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Wildcats will be making their eighth appearance in the Maui Invitational after competing in 2018, 2014, 2009, 2005, 2000, 1997, and 1993. Arizona captured the tournament championship in 2000 with Michael Wright being named MVP and again in 2014 when Stanley Johnson garnered MVP honors.
This will be the first meeting between the Wildcats and Bearcats since 1996. UA walked away with a three-point win that day.
The winner of that nightcap will move on to face the winner of Ohio State and San Diego State on Nov. 22. Texas Tech, Louisville, Creighton, and Arkansas round out the rest of the field.
