Arizona opens as slight betting favorite in Alamo Bowl matchup with Oklahoma
Arizona opened as the favorite over No. 12 Oklahoma in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
The 14th-ranked Wildcats will meet the Sooners on Thursday, Dec. 28, at the Alamodome. It’ll be the third-ever meeting between the two.
Arizona has opened as a one-point favorite in the game, according to DraftKings. The point total was set at 64.5.
Oklahoma will be the sixth opponent Arizona has faced this season that will finish the year with a winning record. The Wildcats are 3-2 thus far against the other five. Both of the losses came in back-to-back weeks right as Noah Fifita took over the starting job.
The three wins have all come during this six-game winning streak the program is currently enjoying.
Few teams have been hotter than Arizona down the back half of the season.
And the Wildcats will get a chance to validate their closing stretch with a game against a Big 12 (and soon-to-be SEC) elite.
The Wildcats have been excellent against the spread this season. They’re 10-2, with the under hitting in eight of their 12 games.
Oklahoma has also fared well against the spread. The Sooners are 8-4 ATS, while the over has hit seven times.
OU has only entered one other game as an underdog this year, and that was against Texas when the Sooners won by four.
Arizona is 6-0 straight up this season when favored.
The Alamo Bowl kicks off at 6:15 p.m. PT on ESPN on Dec. 28.
