Arizona names new director of basketball operations
Arizona announced a new director of basketball operations on Tuesday.
Evan Manning will be joining the program as the new head of basketball operations. Manning was an assistant coach at Army last season. He has also spent time at Gonzaga, Wake Forest, and Kansas in similar roles.
Manning also played at Kansas from 2012-2015.
Working at Gonzaga and Kansas looks great on a college basketball resume. The Bulldogs and Jayhawks are two of the “blue bloods” of college basketball.
Manning will be joining a Wildcats program that recently won the Pac-12 Championship. Arizona defeated UCLA by a score of 61-59 to bring home the crown.
The No. 1 seeded Wildcats went on to lose to No. 15 Princeton in the first round of last season’s NCAA Tournament.
Arizona will be hoping that Manning can help guide the program to various March Madness runs like he did at Gonzaga and Kansas.
