Arizona’s transfer portal exodus continues.

The Wildcats have lost numerous players to the portal since the departure of coach Jedd Fisch, and that trend continued on Thursday morning. Star cornerback Tacario Davis now intends to enter the portal, per a report from On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Davis is a huge loss for Arizona. He recorded 15 pass breakups last season and also had 1 interception.

Arizona was set to enter 2024 with expectations of competing for a spot in the newly-expanded College Football Playoff. With Fisch departing and numerous key players now expected to transfer, the Wildcats could be looking at more of a rebuilding year in 2024.

Davis is expected to receive interest from some of the top teams in all college football. At 6-foot-3, Davis has the size and technique to be one of the top cornerbacks in the country in 2024.

Arizona has already hired Brent Brennan to replace Fisch as the program’s head coach. Brennan and his staff will presumably work to retain as much of Arizona’s 2023 roster as possible.

All Arizona players have a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal due to the head coaching change.
