The 6-foot-2 Stoutmire ranks as the 57th-best corner in his class, per the 247 Composite. He’s a top-100 player in the talent-rich state of Texas and the 588th overall prospect in the 2023 class. He chose the Wildcats over interest from Mississippi State, Colorado, Memphis, and Penn State, among others.
That makes three defensive commitments in as many days for coach Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats. Arizona added a pair of defensive linemen on Sunday to a class that now has five total commitments on the defensive side of the ball.
The son of a former 10-year NFL safety, Stoutmire brings some serious athleticism to the table. He ran an 11.03 100-meter and recorded a 22-0 long jump as a junior this past spring. In May, he placed fourth at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools state championship in the long jump (21-5.25). He also ran the second leg of Prestonwood Christian’s gold medal-winning 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams.
