Sosefo Akuila has made his decision and the 3-star ATH is headed to Arizona. The 6-foot-3, 227-pound California native announced his choice on social media.

Akuila committed to Arizona over other offers from programs such as BYU, Cal, Nevada, and Washington State. Akuila is considered by the 247Sports Composite to be the No. 85 prospect from California in the Class of 2024.

Arizona’s recruiters during the process with Akuila included defensive coordinator Johnny Nansen and defensive line coach Jason Kaufusi. That could indicate that Akuila will begin his time as a Wildcat as an edge rusher.

Akuila is the 21st addition to Arizona’s Class of 2024, which 247Sports has ranked at No. 32 nationally.

Arizona began the season with a convincing 38-3 victory vs. visiting Northern Arizona. Arizona quarterback Jayden de Laura accounted for 4 touchdowns (3 passing, 1 rushing) in the win.

Next up for Arizona is a Week 2 matchup at Mississippi State on Sept. 9 (7:30 p.m. EST/SEC Network).
