Arizona football added a pledge from Scottsdale-based athlete Dylan Tapley, a 6-foot-4 prospect out of Desert Mountain High School.

Tapley is a 3-star prospect and a member of the Class of 2024, representing Arizona’s 22nd commitment of the cycle.

Tapley chose the Wildcats over offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Kansas State, and Iowa State, to name a few. He committed to Arizona State back in April but backed off that pledge on Thursday.

Tapley’s star status depends on which recruiting service you prefer to use, but he’s labeled as a 3-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite and the No. 518 prospect in the country. He’s also considered to be the No. 37 ATH and No. 12 prospect out of Arizona in the Class of 2024.

It’ll be interesting to see where Tapley best fits into the Wildcats’ program. He played both linebacker and wide receiver in high school with 25 total touchdowns to his name heading into the 2023 season.
