Arizona edge defender Elijah Rushing will announce his college commitment live on the 247Sports YouTube page on July 6.

The state’s top-ranked recruit for the 2024 class has the hometown Wildcats among his four finalists. He’ll choose between Arizona, Oregon, Notre Dame, and Tennessee. His commitment is set for 2 p.m. PT.

A 6-foot-5 edge rusher out of Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic, Rushing is a 5-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite and ranked as one of the best players in his class.

He has been a significant target for Arizona since the very beginning of his recruitment, and the Wildcats have watched him develop into the No. 3 edge rusher in the 2024 class and the No. 25 overall recruit.

The Wildcats and Sun Devils both extended a scholarship offer to him on the same day in March of 2021 — his first two offers. He took an unofficial to the UA in June of that same year and has been a frequent visitor since.

Rushing took his official visit to campus the first weekend of June, the first of four officials during the month to each of his finalists.

He’s a long, rangy athlete with tons of upside as a pass-rusher. As a junior last fall, Rushing collected 73 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. That was after a sophomore campaign that saw him produce 75 tackles, nine TFLs, and 7.5 sacks.
