Arizona earns commitments from pair of 2023 defensive linemen
Arizona earned its fifth and sixth known commitments to the 2023 class on Sunday, picking up pledges from a pair of weekend visitors on the defensive side of the ball.
First it was Carlsbad (N.M.) athlete Tylen Gonzalez announcing his commitment. A 6-foot-6, 250-pound defensive lineman, Gonzalez has positional versatility and plays multiple sports for his high school.

Just hours after Gonzalez’s commitment, Centennial (Calif.) defensive lineman Lucas Conti announced he’ll be joining Gonzalez in the class.

Conti is a bit more known at this point in his recruitment. A 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive lineman, he’s rated by 247Sports as a 3-star prospect and the 65th-ranked defensive lineman in the class. Conti chose the Wildcats over Arizona State, Colorado, and Minnesota, among others.
He registered 56 tackles, seven sacks, and five pass breakups as a junior last fall.
Gonzalez doesn’t have a star rating from 247Sports or any recorded stats on his MaxPreps page, though it might be safe to expect the former to change here pretty soon now that he has joined a Power Five recruiting class.
