Arizona earns commitment from promising 2023 edge rusher out of Oregon
Arizona beat out Arizona State and Colorado this week for a huge edge rusher prospect in the 2023 class.
Tristan Davis, a 3-star edge from Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge, announced his commitment to the Wildcats. He told 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman the coaching staff’s transparency and openness played a key role in his decision. An unofficial visit to Tucson in June helped seal the deal.

Davis is a 3-star prospect in the industry-generated 247 Composite, ranking as the 97th edge rusher in the 2023 class and the fourth-best prospect from the state of Oregon. He wasn’t heavily recruited by the Power Five ranks, but it’s his combination of size and motor that makes him an intriguing add for UA.
Davis checks in at 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds. He lined up some at tight end for his high school and registered eight sacks as a junior last fall.
His verbal pledge gives UA its 18th known commitment in the 2023 class. Only Washington has a larger class at this point than the Wildcats, who are sitting nicely inside the top 35 classes in the country for the cycle.
