Arizona walloped Utah Tech 104-77 Thursday night at McKale. The Wildcats have topped 90 points in every game so far, and they’ve shot at least 54.5% from the field in every game as well.

All five starters scored in double-digits for the UA against the Trailblazers. Kerr Kriisa followed up his triple-double performance with a career-high 24 points on 6-of-7 shooting (all from 3). He also added five assists and four boards.

Azuolas Tubelis and Cedric Henderson Jr. also each added 20 points on a combined 17-for-22 shooting. Tubelis added eight boards, five assists, a steal, and a block. Henderson had five boards and two assists while knocking down a pair of triples.

It was the second time under Tommy Lloyd that three different Wildcats scored 20 points in the same game, according to Arizona Desert Swarm’s Brian Pedersen.

That’s something that never happened under Sean Miller.

Arizona also went a perfect 22-for-22 at the foul line.

“To see guys step up and make them at that clip is huge. It’s probably not gonna happen every night, but I think overall we could be a really good free throw shooting team,” Lloyd said after the game. “A big key to that is Oumar (Ballo), if you have a 5-man like that, that is that big and can draw that many fouls, it’s a lot for a defense to handle, especially if he can step up and make his free throws.”

Ballo had 16 points to go with 11 boards and two blocks in 21 minutes — his first double-double of the season. He made six of his 10 shots from the field and all four of his free throws.

On the outside, Kriisa continues to scorch the nets from 3. He’s hit 11 of his 16 triples through Arizona’s first three games.

“Tell him to shoot more,” Lloyd said. “He’s such a good player, and he can involve others so easily sometimes I think he’s turning down open shots for himself, and then what happens next? Sometimes it’s a good thing, sometimes it’s a bad thing. The way they were playing defense, they were trying offensively to try to keep the ball on one side of the floor, so it creates weak-side rotations and a lot of open opportunities if you’re willing to hunt.

“I told him in the second half to start shooting threes. I thought at end of the first half, we had an extra pass 3 to him, kind of right in front of their bench, and he turned down the shot and I think we ended up turning the ball over. I told him, ‘You’ve got to shoot those shots.'”

Arizona had a 49-21 lead at the halftime break, and stretched that margin to as many as 39 points in the second half.
