Will Rogers did not wait long to provide a big-time spark in Arizona State’s 2023 season.

Friday evening, the Sun Devils got the season rolling with an opening-day matchup against San Diego State. In the bottom of the 2nd, Rogers produced the first home run of the season for the Sun Devils.

Rogers’ shot was not just an ordinary one. He delivered a mammoth moon shot that Arizona State measured at 448 feet.

With Friday’s game now in the bottom of the 3rd inning, Arizona State maintains a 2-0 lead against the Aztecs.

In 2022, Rogers appeared in 46 games for the Sun Devils and blasted 9 HRs while slugging .575. Considering Friday’s blast, it will be interesting to see what’s in store for Rogers at the plate this season.
