Report: Arizona State will be without two corners for season-opener
Arizona State head coach Herm Edwards told reporters Monday the Sun Devils will be without two defensive backs when they open the season on Thursday against Northern Arizona.
Sixth-year senior Timarcus Davis and sophomore Jordan Clark will both miss the game with injury. According to Sun Devil Source, Davis has been limited in practice over the last three weeks because of a knee injury. Clark is also out with a knee injury, per Sun Devil Source.

Clark was taking first-team reps at safety and nickel early on in camp, according to multiple reports. Davis figured to once again fill a role at corner when the season began. He played the fourth-most snaps among the team’s defensive backs a season ago while Clark saw the sixth-most.
Ro Torrence and Ed Woods were the two starting corners on the Sun Devils’ depth chart released Monday.
DJ Taylor is in line to start at nickel.
The Sun Devils kick off against Northern Arizona at 7 p.m. PT on Thursday.
