DJ Horne will return to Arizona State on Thursday following a one-game suspension that caused him to miss Saturday’s game at Washington State, a 75-58 loss.

Hurley reported the news on 98.7 Arizona Sports after Horne was suspended for behavior detrimental to the team, according to ESPNU broadcaster Roxy Bernstein, who made the comment just prior to the first half of ASU’s game at Washington State Saturday., after the sophomore only played one minute in the second half Thursday at Washington. Hurley previously criticized Horne for his intensity against Southern Cal last weekend, a performance Horne shot 0-for-5 in with one assist in 17 minutes.

“DJ had a blank expression, never was fully engaged in the game,” Hurley said after the USC game, per Arizona Sports. “It’s rare that I’d have to take him out of the game.”

Horne is averaging 11.2 points per game on 35.3 percent shooting (32.2 percent from 3-point range). He’s scored in double figures 12 times this season.

Horne is the second ASU player suspended this season after forward Marcus Bagley, who later left the team on his own.

Both players were second-team All-Pac-12 selections in the preseason.
